Out-Class Hunter 0.0.5 Update Details
This Update features quite a few small changes to grasslands and the direction we are going with some of the level art.
One of the changes we are making moving forward is doing this sort of N64 styled blend between floor and wall textures/geometry. I wasn't happy with the just plain Doom look when I have tools flexible enough to go way beyond.
I'll go into detail another time on how I'm approaching the materials for this.
The other thing added is the new foliage system which I was unable to implement with ease until the UE 4.23 update was released. I wanted to make it so the foliage acted just like every other sprite in the game. The new support for actors in the foliage tool has made it possible to put the foliage in the stages with ease. One other addition inspired by suggestions from ChrispyPixels was to make the foliage react to the player and enemies. You can current walk over the grass and it'll move out of the way.
I plan to make various foliage additions and make some of them animated. There will also be more tweaks to this first stage as well as the other demo/alpha stages.
